Mrs JC Altham & Sons is a Wilhelmsen Service Provider, supplying marine chemicals and industrial gases to vessels calling at UK ports. This isn’t a generic chemical supply arrangement: it’s a formally authorised distribution relationship, which means every product we supply is genuine, correctly documented, and backed by the manufacturer rather than a third party working from a lookalike specification.

For a vessel or fleet operator, that authorisation matters in practice. It means the chemicals you take on board meet the specification the engine, tank or system was designed around, with the paperwork to prove it if a port authority or class surveyor ever asks.

Our marine chemicals and industrial gas supply typically covers:

• Cleaning and maintenance chemicals for engine rooms, tanks and deck areas
• Industrial and refrigerant gases
• Wilhelmsen ships service products, supplied under our authorised status

Chemical sales are usually bought either as a stock order by a chandler or agent, or as a direct order from a vessel with an immediate operational need. Both are handled the same way; correctly documented, correctly packaged for onward transport, and ready for collection or delivery on the timescale you need.

Six generations of the Altham family have built relationships with manufacturers and shipping lines on the basis of doing this properly. Getting the wrong chemical, or one without the right documentation, onto a vessel is not a risk worth taking, and it’s not one we ask our customers to take either.
