Facilities
Cold storage and bonded warehousing for vessels calling at UK ports.
Facilities covers the storage and warehousing side of a port call; refrigerated and chilled storage for goods awaiting collection, and bonded warehousing for goods held under customs control. Where Bonded Stores is about the duty-free goods themselves, Facilities is about the physical space and temperature control that keeps goods, of any kind, in the right condition until a vessel is ready.
Our cold storage covers a range of temperature bands, from chilled through to frozen, so goods arrive on board in the condition they left in. Where goods need to move under temperature control rather than just be stored, we can also arrange refrigerated transport as part of the same service.
Our warehouse operates under strict quality assurance protocols, audited annually by NSF, with our systems and processes continually updated to meet current UK and EC hygiene and environmental regulations.
Our facilities typically cover:
- Refrigerated and chilled storage
- Bonded warehousing under customs control
- Temperature-controlled transport, where required
- Short and longer-term storage ahead of collection
Facilities and Bonded Stores are often used together. Goods held under bond frequently also need temperature control, and we manage both requirements as a single service rather than treating them as two separate bookings.
Six generations of trading at Heysham and the surrounding ports means our warehousing has been built around what vessels and their cargo actually need, not adapted from a general logistics warehouse that happens to have space free.
